With the transfer of China’s accession to the WTO and the sewing machinery manufacturing industry,sewing machinery industry has been developing rapidly in China, China has become the Industrial Sewing Machine sewing equipment manufacturing country. However,China is still not mastered the key technology of the fully automated sewing machine product development,to make China Sewing equipment manufacturing power and promote the garment industry automation level of R&DCNC automatic sewing machine has great economic benefit and profound social significance.On the basis of full understanding of the structure and function of the numerical control system, this paper presents a design of open CNC structure based on PMAC motion controller for fully automatic CNC lockstitch sewing machine motion control system.Firstly,the new CNC automatic sewing machine mechanical motion characteristics and working principle were analyzed in detail,to achieve sewing machine sewing process and performance indicators,this paper Proposed two kinds of work mode which are on-line sewing and off-line sewing.Then the paper analysis the composition and structure of CNC system,servo control system with the characteristics of the typical structure,and presented to PC+PMAC open CNC architecture as the core combined with modern CNC sewing machine works, permanent magnet AC servo motor and drive system for the motion control system design.And completed selection of PMAC controller,servo motor and drive.feedback device in accordance with design,and connection of PMAC motion controller and servo system.In accordance with the work required of sewing machine to complete the design of peripheral circuits,including motor limit.bar code scanning, automatic trimming, marking the electromagnet drive etc.In order to meet the basic functions and requirements of CNC sewing machine the paper designs automatic CNC control software system,which includes PC software and PMAC lower computer program.The PC software is based on the the technology of Visual C++,and it’s a visualization software system applied in Windows2000/xp system, which include of three independent software:CNC sewing machine functions debugging software,DXF graphics format conversion software,CNC automatic sewing machine sewing software.PC mainly to complete DXF graphics format conversion,automatic sewing online management,human-computer exchange function,state variable real-time data monitoring,each axis motor startup,open handwheel pulses follow function and other functions.PMAC lower computer program,including the PLC program and motion control PRO program in two parts.PMAC motion control card complete motion control,PID compensation,input and output management,and PLC program management by the calculation of DSP56303CPU.Finally,the automatic CNC sewing machine performance were tested,including CNC sewing machine motor synchronization performance test,the axis linkage test,and automatic sewing experiment.After a full automatic CNC sewing machine sewing system performance testing and automated sewing testing,automatic sewing machine proved it’s technical indicators meet the design requirements.The results showed that sewing machine sewing process can be fully automated without human intervention,to complete the automatic template recognition,automatic sewing,auto Backstitch,automatic thread cutting and other operations.
