Perylene tetracarboxylic diimide(PDI) derivatives are important molecular building blocks that are currently being investigated for use in a variety of photoactive organic materials because of their low light and thermal fading rates, high luminescence efficiency, wide absorption and emission bands in both visible region, and optoelectronic properties. By virtue of their unique optical and electrical properties, organic molecules incorporated with electron donor and electron acceptor moieties have received intense attention because of their potential applications in numerous fields such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), field-effect transistors (OFETs), photovoltaic cells (PCs) and organic lasers, etc.In this paper PDI amphiphile 1,7-Pyridinoyl Perylene-Diimide has been synthesized and introduction of 2-ethylhexanmide onto the N-position to enhance the solubility in organic solvent and pyridine onto the bay-position as hydrophilic group to balance the electronic cloud of the whole molecular of PDI. Meanwhile, the N atom of pyridine group can be protoned by HCl to produce different molecular. In methanol, we get different aggregations in different concentration. The level of assembly large depends on the level of protoned. Through dynamic dissociation of bay-substituted pyridium chlorides, probed by the distinct spectral features before and after protonation of the bay-substituted pyridines, we find out that the relation of the assembly and the uv-vis and fluorescence spectrum. The different aggregation of PDIs was charactered by SEM, TEM, CLSM. The dynamicao equilibria between the protonated and unprotonated dyes shown capability to modulate co-assembly of PDI dyes.Furthermore,5,5-dimethyl-2,2-dipyridine derivates are also synthesized in this paper which have a largeπ-conjugate system. The derivates coordinate with different transition metal atoms(Cu, Ag, Co, Cd), all of the coordination compounds show different lights(ren, blue, and green area) phenomenon, which is rarely seen. We also charactered the feature by SEM, TEM, and CLSM that are coordinate with the fluorescence spectrum.
