In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology, data storage is playing a more and more important role in the modern information system; it's a foundation link that props up the overall situation, and provides a dependable guarantee efficiently for each kind of upper level applications. So, the problems of how to insure the safety of the key data and how to insure the high performance and available of the network system have already become important topics in the modern information systems.The systems of power companies are the lifeblood of economic development in China and also are important parts of the industry economy. With the technology of power companies'informatization and power industry reforms in-depth, data in power system also will increase sharply. Although the development and applications of the network has brought in to facilitate for power companies, it also brings a lot of security implications at the same time. Especially, the rapid development of computer networks and the level of power grid automation, once the problem of information security appear, it will be a crisis, and the losses and impact will be immeasurable. With the amount of power data explosive growth and the increasingly high demand for data security, so the system of power companies'core business must be high availability, and functions as complete and reliable data storage / data backup / allopatric Disaster Tolerance are necessary.The main research areas in this thesis were given as following:1.This thesis carries on the power company in Laixi, Qingdao city, Shandong province as a research object. It analyzed data storage and data backup related technologies fully, described the trends of development of data storage and data backup respectively, and compared several typical data storage system structures and some typical data backup system structures;2.It analyzes the core business data in power companies, as well as the shortcomings of the original system which was a distributed storage mode, including a strong dependence on the server, and the lower data transfer rate, and also poor security, so it was difficult to ensure continuous availability of data and so on. In order to overcome these shortcomings, this thesis proposed a program design named data integrated storage and backup based on SAN, then analyzed and design this program and implemented by Veritas Backup Exec.3.Considering the event of a major disaster but also to ensure the security of data, this paper proposed a program design called SAN-Based allopatric disaster tolerance Backup System, which can take over the works in data storage centers immediately after the incident, so the system can provided services continuously, and made the loss to reach the minimum.
