"Design and Application Of The Engineering Digital Information Systems (EDIS) " scientific research roots in the digital oil field of CNOOC (China) Co., Ltd. started in 2008. The author, as a head of the research, who did the relevant study of basis theory, conducted the development planning of the overall framework of the research and part of design and development of the system. The system uses modern mainstream information technology, in line with international standards and China's national conditions, while achieving the research group and research stakeholders in the integration of integration, provides a timely and accurate information and collaboration working platform for research management, implements research management objectives, and transfers an advanced " digital platform" in the transfer of an advanced " real platform".This paper discusses the basic theory of process control and management, the requirements and functional analysis of plant engineering information system based on the focus of the plant engineering information system design problems.This paper describes the system core of engineering digital information system (EDIS) that is three-dimensional digital oil field facilities information integration platform (engineering information database) and construction project data information platform based on ISO15926, providing engineering information collection, engineering information order and Mining, engineering information sharing and use of engineering information transfer and other functions, including engineering information collection implemented by the expandable "engineering data acquisition module" customized relying on EDIS project specifications. The modular design of the structure is completely open, so that the system has good scalability.The research, development and application of EDIS system is of great significance to provide support and case reference for the "digital oil field" of offshore oil in China. However, offshore oil system is very large and complex this system development is still in the test run stage, there are still problems of how to integrate the EDIS and the ERP systems, to verify the process intelligent P & ID data and three-dimensional model in the second and three-dimensional and some other issues to research into an in-depth exploration. Therefore, in this paper study and discussion on the EDIS system there are imperfections which need to further improve and enhance in future.
