In recent years, with the continuous development of modern naval architectureand marine engineering as well as the in-depth development of informationtechnology, application of the management information system(MIS) in the field ofNaval Architecture and Marine Engineering has given rise to people’s attention.Application management information systems play a good role in the research designto improve the quality of project management, improve the status of the shortage ofmanpower, mobilize staff enthusiasm for production, improve the distributionmechanism and improve the management level.In the management information systems, database performance plays a veryimportant role. The performance of the database determines the success of theapplication of the management information system. According to the informationsystem application situation in Marine Design and Research Institute of China,through a variety of optimization technology to optimize database performance, makecontribution to the promotion of Ships and Ocean Engineering ManagementInformation System. The main work of the paper is as follows.The paper first introduces the overview of the production managementinformation system, including its overall structure and operating environment, systemstructure, system development tools, then describes the characteristics of this systemin the design and functionality, including automation and intelligent design, the designof working hours management functions. Secondly, with the in-depth study of thedatabase SQL optimization techniques, data access optimization techniques, advancedoptimization techniques, linking theory with practice, take a series of performancetuning tools and measures to identify the key factors to affect performance to beimproved. Start working from the following two aspects: single-table queryoptimization, multi-table query optimization. Finally, making the main data of thedatabase query speed increased to more than double. At last, summarized andanalyzed to identify several kinds of generally applicable to this type of systemoptimization method, make contribution to the promotion of Ships and OceanEngineering Management Information System.
