Chart Design Manifestations

With the development of human society, the mass media has come to a more intense competition level, how to sort out and communicate complex information more effectively has become a very significant issue, and no doubt, diagram plays an important role of simplifying information and effective communication. This paper is based on the expression forms of diagram design, summarizes the inheritance and development relations of various characteristics of diagram design expression forms by sorting out diagram design related conception and comparative study on lots of diagram design works. With applicability comparison and feasibility study on diagram design expression forms, this paper analyzes the corresponding forms of design expression of subject content, communication carriers and display environment, drawing the conclusion that each form of diagram design expression has its own strengths and complementary advantages, and revealing the diversified development and co-exist situation. The author expects that this paper could provide some little inspiration and assistance to those people who dedicated to diagram design practice and research.
