| Tourism industry is a sensitive industry with quick reaction to the markets, and usually starts ahead of the city infrastructure at its preliminary stage of life circle. The early starting tourism industry has imposed wide influence on its urban spatial structure. However, current tourism industry's impact research mainly concerns the economic or cultural impact of tourism industry. The systematic study on the spatial structure impact of tourism industry, especially on the evolution of urban spatial structure, has not been much discussed. Therefore, study on the spatial impact of that industry is beneficial. Meanwhile we should notice that the slow evolution of spatial structure has to some extent constrained the fast growing tourism industry. As a result, how to suggest a reasonable solution to combine the development of tourism industry and spatial optimization is of practical significance. As one of the early excellent tourism cities, Qinhuangdao is typical in this case for its early starting tourism industry and its fast growing has greatly influenced its urban spatial structure. This article first summarized the development situation of Qinhuangdao's tourism industry, and systematically studied the features and patterns of tourism industry's spatial evolution based on quantitative analysis and comprehensive qualitative analysis methods like Nearest Point Index and Spatial Gini Coefficient. Secondly, it analyzed tourism industry's important influence on Qinhuangdao's city structure evolution from the aspects of how tourism industry influenced the city positioning, exterior spatial expansion, interior spatial optimization, city road system and ecological environment. The constraints imposed on the development of tourism industry by the current urban spatial structure were also studied in this article. Strategies on the optimization of urban spatial structure were put forward on that basis and on the combination of the practical situations of tourism resources integration and the development of tourism industry. This study is an attempt to analyze the tourism industry's influence on urban spatial structure both theoretically and practically, with reference meaning to similar tourist city. |
