With the development of modern automotive technology, automotive electronics are getting more and more,and a lot of real-time exchange of information will generate in vehicle control system. The traditional way of wiring must have difficulties in complex wring, maintaining and achieving real-time exchange of signals. In this context vehicle local area network came into being; CAN bus, with a simple structure, high reliability and mature technology, is widely used as a serial bus in automobile.This paper presents an overview and comparison of automotive bus types and points out that the CAN bus is the prevailing advantage in the field of automotive electronic control . And it also analyzes the basic principles of the CAN bus, and introduces the packet transmission, packet filtering, packet validation, coding and so on in detail. And all these provide the basis for making the optimal design to electrical control system of the body.The main method is to transform the existing vehicle electrical system, classify the body node in accordance with different types of the functions and power devices, and then design the various types of nodes according to the designing idea of optimal control and perfect function. In terms of hardware, we can re-optimize, shape, decrease or increase the components to make the node more aesthetic and function more practical ; in terms of software, communication is more reliable by improving the original programs and adding new programs. Finally, validating the feasibility of this method by experiments.The main achievements of this topic: 1.Improving the existing test stand CAN, and fully demonstrating the advantages of CAN bus. 2. Re-classifying the nodes, optimizating the interface circuit part of the of components according to types of the various nodes, and further improving the appearance and functionality of the nodes . 3. Optimizing the way of data transmission in CAN bus and the host computer, whether PC or laptop can easily communicate with the CAN bus. This is designed not only to provide laboratory equipment for teaching, but also provides a basic idea for the general development of CAN bus.
