Value of structural influencing coefficient is the key of safe assurance after the structures enter the inelastic range. The structural influence factors are not only the key factors for determining seismic action in force-based seismic design, but also the key parameters to deduce the inelastic response spectra in performance-based seismic design. How to determine the value of structural influencing coefficient inevitable becomes one of the hot topics of the constructure engineering. For enhancing the security and economy of structure design, developing and improving the current Seismic design theory, the study of structural influencing coefficient have important academic value and project significance.Structural performance in seismic is studied at the energy point of view ,which is derived from observation of massive seismic disasters.And it turns toward the lead of earthquake-resistance design direction to develop.Based on the energy method to study on the structural influencing coefficient is a new attempt. Energy of the motions of fields is the synthesis target which responses the strong and weak of seismic. Of course it indicates the ground maximum acceleration and the duration, which are the vital factors of ground motions. So the analysis and design method of structure seismic energy is considered an important developing direction of improving traditional resisting earthquake method.Because of the complexity and uncertainty of earthquake wave, the problem of classification has not determined. But the basic rules have already achieved the mutual recognition. Site is the main factor of influencing the earthquake wave character. Response spectrum shape varies along with the site. The result of my paper indicates that for the structure influence coefficient the site influence can't ignore.This paper designs 8 different steel frames according to our country《Code for seismic design of buildings》, inputs the earthquake wave under four sites,adopts incremental dynamic analysis(IDA)method with ANSYS software to analyze the structure earthquake reaction, based on equal energy principle gets the structure influence coefficient,the ductility reduction factor and the structural overstrength factor .In this paper, detailed steps are descripted, and discuss these variations of coefficients along with the structure level number and site. Expect to provide proper earthquake action for the steel structure earthquake-resistance design, and improve the present development of steel structure.
