Reinforced concrete masonry shear wall stucture is a new kind of structural system which comes out in the summary of the development and application process of reinforced concrete masonry stucture, and meets the characteristics of construction industry in China, this structural system has the characteristics of "4 savings and 1 environmentally protection" and has good economic and social benefits in engineering application. But nowadays the thickness of reinforced concrete masonry shear wall used and researched in china are all 190mm, whose bearing capacity seriously restricted the height of this kind of building, so it needs to develop thicker reinforced concrete masonry shear wall structure, and studies its structure properties. This paper is the first time to research the seismic behavior of 240mm reinforced masonry shear wall at home, which has great theoretical significance and engineering value for the development of the design theory of reinforced masonry shear wall. This paper fully studies the wall's mechanical properties under the pressure, flexural and shears interactions by the low cyclic loading experiments of 7 pieces of 240 full size reinforced concrete masonry shear wall. Where,2 pieces of wall occurred Shear failure and 5 pieces of wall occurred flexural failure. This paper obtains the failure process, failure mode, capacity, deformability and characteristics of stress distribution through the tests, and obtains the the specimen hysteretic, skeleton curves, the rigidity degradation curve, ductility and the energy-dissipation capabilities by studying the experiment results. The tests show that reinforced masonry shear wall has good Intensity, stiffness, energy dissipation capacity and ductility performance. Comparing with the 190 reinforced masonry shear wall, it has higher bearing capacity. Based on the experiments, this paper compares the reinforced concrete masonry shear wall test data with the finite element results calculated by the ANSYS, and the results show that it was feasible to parametric analysis. At the same time, this paper studies the impacts of the masonry strength, mortar strength, horizontal reinforcement ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and the size of the wall to the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete masonry shear wall, some useful conclusions were drawn. This paper modifies the shear capacity calculation formula in Code for design of masonry structures(GB 50003-2001) which suitable for the 240 reinforced concrete masonry shear wall according to the experimental and numerical results, comparing with the existing formula, the modified formula increases the contribution of compressive strength of grouted block masonry to shear capacity appropriately. Also, this paper validates that the formula for bearing capacity of large bias reinforced masonry shear wall also suit for the 240 reinforced masonry shear wall according to the test results.
