The reinforced concrete masonry shear wall structure has distinct social benefits due to its economical efficiency for the residential building. Based on the reinforced concrete masonry shear wall structure and the reinforced concrete short-leg shear wall structure, the reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall structure was put forward which can cut down cost of program on the basis of keeping the seismic behavior of structure. It will be made great progress in recent decades.In this paper, the pseudo-static tests of two"T"cross-section samples were carried out. The failure process and mode, the capacity, the load-deformation relationship, and the energy-dissipation capabilities were studied in the shear failure tests. And the hysteresis loops, the skeleton curves and the rigidity deterioration curves were given. Besides, the failure mode and ductility of the reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall are similar to that of the reinforced concrete short-leg shear wall. Flange and web of reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall that shape of the cross-section is"T"can work together well. The ductility and energy dissipating property of member can be increased effectively by the flange.Moreover, the theories analysis mode of shear capacity of the reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall has been put forward. Based on the mode, formula for shear capacity was proposed taked into the factors including masonry strength, shear span ratio, vertical load, and horizontal reinforcement. The formula show a good correlation with the experimental datas of the collected 59 shear failure tests of reinforced concrete masonry shear walls which are included in reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall. Compare to the formula for shear capcity of reinforced concrete masonry shear wall given in Code for Design of Masonry Structures (GB 50003—2001), the formula in this paper enlarged the contribution of masonry strength and vertical load properly, and the contribution of horizontal reinforcement was reduced in consideration of its reinforcement ratio and the shear span ratio.The FEA program ANSYS is adopted to simulate the behaviors of the...
