This paper reduces the LPG-diesel engine's compression ratio to solve the knock at high load. After comparing the maximum combustion pressure, maximum rate of pressure rise, cyclic variation and heat release rate curve under different compression ratios, it comes to the optimum one of LPG-diesel engine. A study of smoke at full load from LPG-diesel engine with different igniting diesel quantities is also done. The results show that the maximum combustion pressure, maximum rate of pressure rise of LPG-diesel engine, as well as cyclic variation, decrease greatly when the compression ratio is reduced. However, the combustion delay period and the combustion duration will increase during the course. After all these work, it comes to the conclusion that 14.5 is the optimum compression rate of LPG-diesel engine which is refitted from model ZH1 105W diesel engine. Meanwhile, the smoke at full load from LPG-diesel engine maintains a low value in contrast with diesel engine. The more LPGs are used, which can also cause the dynamic force property to drop, the less smoke emitted.
