Applying the modal analysis theory and FEM technology, the dynamic property of tank engine main parts is studied in this paper. The finite element modal of engine block, cylinder head and crankshaft, which are the main parts in an engine, are constructed. Using ANSYS5 .5 software, the modal parameters achieved by finite element analysis coincide with those achieved in experiment, which shows the correctness of the modals. It supplies foundations for the further optimization analysis, dynamic response analysis and dynamic matching study. The dynamic property of engine block is mainly analyzed and proves some improving suggestions for its structure optimization. Lastly, analyzed the dynamic property of the combination structure, achieved the modal parameters of the combination structure, studied the joint of the combination structure and the dynamic mate relationship between the combination structures.
