Large Ship Speed Prediction Research

This paper describes a research for ship power and speed. It includes two parts as follows: First, ship power and speed prediction models are established through regression model and BP neural network model respective on the basis of real ship data. Especially, for BP neural network, the result shows that the step is clear and simple, the speed of computation is fast, and the most important is that the result is satisfactory. Second, the computation of friction resistance , visious pressure resistance and wave resistance is carried out. A calculation method for wave-making resistance is developed by using Panel method. Compared with model basin test data ,the result of computation is accurate. At last, the application program of efficient power prediction are completed.
