A thorough study of temperature and thermal stress of Roller Compacted Concrete Dam (RCCD)highly needs, since building dam with roller compacted concrete is a new technology in damconstruction. In the finished paper which is connected with the national key task, thedistribution of temperature and thermal stress of RCCD during construction and performanceperiod is systematically studied by means of the realistically analysis of temperature andthermal stress of RCCD of Long Tan llydroelectric Station. The relevant computing program with3D finite element method (FEM is developed with NDP FORTRAN. On the basis of 3D finite elementfloating mesh method, a method that use different time increments in different region whensolving equations is adopted, which makes the program get a high efficiency when running.But the program is restricted to DOS environment with Poor graph function. The use of theprogram is inconvenient, since there are difficulties in data inputting and output dataorganizing under weak man-machine conversation.In this article, the visualization system for temperature and thermal stress analysisof RCCD is studied. The main content includes Preprocessing and postprocessing of FEM program,computing part and helping system. The whole program is composed of modules among whichdatabases and data files are used to transfer information. As to the developing tools, VisualBasic 6. 0, Fortran PowerStation 4. 0 and HTML Help Workshop are involved. In the preprocessing,the dictated data are input through user interface, then the data files that are needed incomputing and drawing are available immediately. During computing, processbar-dialog box isused to inform user the running states. And the postprocessing chiefly includes data inquire,graph showing of result (contour and variation chart of temperature and thermal stress indifferent period) and information editing. The system not only reduces workload greatly andshows the result directly, but also makes the operation more simply. In RCCD) construction,the technician can change any construction parameter according to factor variation inconstruction environment. After the new parameter value is feed into computer, tbe resultthat reflects the differences of temperature and thermal stress between the old parameterand the new one is obtained. So the system can help optimizing temperature control of RCCD,provides evidence of application on constructing information for technician in field and makesthe controlling work of constructing temperature more convenient.
