According to the development of the CAD system of Solid Rocket Motor(SRM),this paper has developed the SRM Optimization Design and Performance Simulation subsystem by using the Object-Oriented Programming(OOP) technique and Open Graphics Library(OpenGL) technology. Here several kernel techniques have been solved successfully. The details are as follows:1.This software provide a friendly, interactive, general tool for the design of SRM,which has overcome the deficiency of such kind of programs before;2.Users can optimize the design on the basis of preliminary design. Here it provides enough choices for the selection of optimum variables, constraint variables, object functions, even the optimum methods;3.The computation of mass property which adopt the discrete integration is combined with the graphic construction of the SRM stucture, assuhng the internal data coherence. And the 3 dimensional solid model of SRM is displayed by using the OpenGL technology;4.What抯 more, this paper has introduced a method to simulate the flame of the motor combustion with OpenGL, which greatly improve the visualization of this system;5.This system divides the structure of SRM into some basic components by use of OOP,and then comprise different type of SRM by different combination, which demonstrates the flexibility of this system, also guarantee the extensibility of system. Here only new component is needed for a new type structure of SRM.In a word, this paper has discussed many methods?application in the.design of SRM, also has provided the whole interactive process of the preliminary design. This system can be used to optimize the design of large scale SRM which users can select their suitable mathematic models and 3D graph is displayed with OpenGL. Here the structure of the system is achieved with OOP to guarantee the indepedence of modules, the dynamic linking and maintainability. The whole system adopts C++Builder as the main developing environment which is also combined withFORTRAN.
