A finite element method of free and moving boundary problems in dynamically loaded journal bearing is given in this paper . At the same time, the paper discusses a semi-analytical method ( finite strip method ) applied for free and moving boundary problem of dynamically loaded journal bearing .The first method transforms a free boundary problem into a generalized differential equation with inequation constraint and its corresponding quadratic programming. By means of Newton-Raphson algorithm with non-smooth derivatives the complementary equations are solved. The true distribution' of oil film presses is obtained. The results show that the difference between the full oil film and the free moving boundary oil film is obvious. The compact storage scheme, for example banded or one-dimension storage format, can be used for the less of costs of computation and the storage spaces. The 2n oil film is gained by a example and compare to numerical result solved by nonsmooth method as well .The paper discusses a semi-analytical method ( finite strip method ) applied for free and moving boundary problem of dynamically loaded journal bearing .The method transforms a free boundary problem into a macrocosm differential equation h with inequation obligation and its corresponding functional optimization then use semi-analytical method to scatter the functionality and get its special conic programming problem. As a example ,the 2n oil film is gained and compare the result from them. The method is considered a extension of finite strip method in optimization field.
