This paper discribles the single-phase grounded fault of undirectly earthed system in detail, and a systematic discussion about its voltage .current and energy features. Because of existing relays lacking sufficient reliability and safety, it is essential to develop a new energy-based protection systemThis paper consists of six chapters. Chapter one and chapter two set forth the theory of energy method and features of the single-phase grounded fault, and focuses on analysizing relation between condensance impact current and aperiodic inductance current. This part also proves nonliear arc cannot affect relay direction.Chapter three discusses the changing trend of energy function and presents a new method to improve the sensibility of the transient energy-based relay.According to former chapters conclusion ,Chapter four studies sampling channel elememts, which make signal error smaller.Chapter five describles sortware development process, and studies further filter design and sampling channel features.Chapter six discusses fault location algorithm for single-phase-to-earth fault which improves the selecting faulted ciucuit device.
