Heat exchangers have been widely used in industry, especially in power machineries and equipments. Providing an appropriate working condition for the latter, heat exchangers have been playing an important role. With the improvement of science, they cannot already meet the need of industry with their big and heavy bodies. However, it's so difficult to get the formulae about the heat transfer in heat exchangers that this thesis will present the theories and tests of compact louvered fin heat exchangers used in the Internal Combustion Engine from the point of view of experiment. Networks have been applied in this calculation by processing the related data about the size of fins of heat exchangers.The main works done in this thesis are as followed:1) The general developing situation of heat exchangers used in the internal combustion engine and their model building status are firstly discussed. Then the thesis goal is confirmed.2) Some basic elements about louvered fin heat exchangers have been presented in this thesis, all these works shall give us a foundation to make the related test.3) Participating in developing the testing system of louvered fin heat exchangers and making some tests about 18H12C, a type of heat exchangers.4) Some theories of model building about 18H12C are fully discussed. Such problem is the kernel of my research, and the related calculation results are analyzed and checked carefully and truly.
