Web-based Satellite Project Management Decision Support System

The satellite project is a kind of enormous system engineering. Because of its long cycle,heavy cost,advanced technology,high risk,high stability and many unexpected issues,the process of the satellite project management should deal with not only information management but also decision support. For the satellite project is not reversible,if the project management is failure,it will result in a mass of loss. So,for full-scale,efficient,scientific project management and decision making to meet the capability,expense,stability,schedule and risk requirements of satellite project plan,it is highly important that we develop the Satellite Project Integrated Management System.This paper analyzes the process of the satellite project management,with the characteristics of which are summarized. We studied carefully two sorts of management patterns,namely Client/Server and Browser/Server,and proposed a new Web-based management pattern. We developed the Web-based Satellite Project Integrated management System (WSPIS) with the new pattern. Then,according to the process of satellite project management in our country,we proposed the architecture of WSPIS. Through systems analysis and system design,WSPIS was implemented. It can deal with much information of satellite project through orderly and effective computer management. At the same time,it has a lot of decision support function,such as cost analysis,schedule analysis,performance analysis,risk analysis,effectiveness analysis.
