With these advantages of energy-saving, low maintenance and easy automatic control, variable-frequency speed regulation technology has been widely used .The author in this Master Paper analyzes in detail and deeply all kinds of the speed adjustment system of portal crane at home and abroad, and confirms the scheme of variable - frequency speed regulation of M10 ton portal crane at last. The author explains the selection of frequency converter, motor and their ancillaries, as well as related verifying formulae in the scheme. The control system of the crane has been transformed from relay control into PLC control, and formed CompoBus/D net. The functions of the crane transformed have great improvement, and increase the real-time display of various parameters, the diagnosis of fault etc.The designing principles of the article are effectiveness, economical, safety and reliability. The author has a whole design of the scheme of M10 ton portal crane. The software used by control system in ladder is also given in this article. The system presents by using for a period time after reformed that whole design is feasible and reliable.
