With economic development and living standards being constant to raise, people demand more and more electric power, meanwhile require the power supply quality and reliability higher and higher. The existing distribution network and distribution mode cannot be satisfied with the request of the social development. But with the development of computer and communication technology, it is possible to realize the distribution automation. The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA) is a result of evolution of distribution automation. Among SCADA system, data(include both analog and digital) sampling is the information source of the whole system. So how to optimize data sampling and its algorithm receives much concern in studying power system automation question all the time.This paper studies several synchronous sampling methods and data processing algorithms and put forward a method which combines the GPS and the phase locked loop(PLL) to realize synchronous sampling. The Chapter 1 introduces the general situation of development of distribution automation and the functions that SCADA system should possess. The Chapter 2 introduces several kinds of synchronous sampling methods:broadcasting from a central location, method with communication networks , method based on reference vector and broadcasts from satellites. The Chapter 3 detailed introduces the method utilizing GPS and phase locked loop, and also analyses the operation principle of PLL and the construction of hardware circuit. The Chapter 4 enumerates algorithms of data processing: sine model algorithm, Fourier algorithm and some other algorithms. In order to deal with the signal including aperiodic component, a method to improve Fourier algorithm and simulation is carried out in the paper.
