Capillary electrophoresis chip that performs" chemical and biochemical analysis procedures is an important branch of biochip. It has several advantages such as high efficiency, fast separation and consuming a little amount of sample and reagent. In order to carry out an experimental protocol, sample and reagent are guided through an appropriately designed micro fluidic network. Electrokinetic transportation is one of the important sample manipulations steps in capillary electrophoresis chip. As for electrokinetic transportation, the complicated geometries of micro channel may cause complicated electric field distribution. It is electric field that determines liquid flow, and it will affect sample separation efficiency. The electroosmotic flow is driven along the direction of electric field power. Firstly, the velocity profile of electroosmotic flow in straight channel is obtained by computation and computer plot. Secondly, mathematics model is designed. By using finite-difference algorithms, external potential field distributing curve in micro channel is obtained in this paper. The computer code is both flexible and highly efficient so that the external voltage can be easily changed. Two fundamental micro channel structures, a cross and a double-T, are of particular interest. External electric potential field distribution is analyzed at the time of injection and separation, and a prior knowledge of liquid flow mode can be gained. At last, experiments are performed to research how the external voltage impacts on sample injection, and the results of experiments accord with the theory computation.
