To improve the fatigue rupture problem of cylinder head, 3D FE-Analysis for the strength of cylinder head for Diesel Engine is present in this paper. The model is made by Pro/Engineering and the 3D FE-Analysis is carried out by ANSYS. The strength analysis of different designs of cylinder head is processed. The temperature field, initial stress, thermal stress field, mechanical stress field and thermal & mechanical stress field are calculated separately. Numerical predictions agree well with the experimental results. The best design is drawn out by the comparing of the analysis results. All data provide a referential basis for improving the structure of cylinder head.Meanwhile, high temperature low cycle fatigue experiments of the cylinder head are made. The specimens are made of the material of cylinder head. Equivalent strain theory is applied to evaluate the life of cylinder head.
