Reliabilities of structures are the important guidance index for the comprehensive evaluations to engineering structures, and for their design, construction, maintenance, reinforcement and renovation. So it is important to study reliability of structures thoroughly in theory. So far, according to the design criterions of buildings, railways and ports, the design of the structures is based on the sections reliability of the components, the reason that it could not be designed based on the structural system reliabilities theory is the question of the failure dependences of the units or the sections of the components.In general, anti-seismic structures will be in the condition of elastic-plastic behaviors under strong earthquakes. Hence, in order to meet anti-seismic requirements under strong earthquakes, it is necessary to study and calculate elastic-plastic deformations of structures. In recent years, the Pushover method is much more applied by the scholars and engineers for its clear concept and simple usage.Up to now, reinforced concrete frame buildings are still used widely in industries and civilian constructions owing to its merits. The safety, serviceability and durability of the structures will be influenced by many kinds of the random factors during the periods of their designs, constructions and the employs, the random finite elements and the reliability analysis of the RC frame structures is the hotspot and the keystone in the structural engineering area.Under the supporting of the Natural Science Foundation of China, "A Study on the Earthquake Vulnerability and Failure Dependence of the Building Structures Based on the Push - Over Analysis (50178064)", in this paper, it was studied the elastic-plasticity random response and the failure dependence of the RC structures, and some conclusions were obtained:1. It was validated that the statistic independence of the failure sections of the components of the RC frame buildings under the small earthquakes;2. It was obtained some correlation failure rules of the beams of the RC frame buildings under the large earthquakes;3. It was obtained some correlation failure rules of the columns of the RC frame buildings under the large earthquakes.It is hoped that, through the continually and thoroughly research on the disciplinarians of the failure dependence of the RC structures under various kinds earthquake actions, the simplified calculation method of frame construction system reliability could be obtained, and the system reliability analysis theory could be applied to design criterions as soon as possible.
