This paper makes a study of the stereo geopositioning of high resolution satellite CCD imagery, and the emphasis is put on the analysis and testing of the use of some math models in the geopositioning of line array CCD stereo imageries. The principles and technical methods of some popular math models which are used to process satellite CCD images are first described and analyzed, then the paper studies the rational function model (RFM) comprehensively, probes into its two solving methods, develops the stereo geopositioning algorithm based on it, and tests its validity, feasibility and geopositioning accuracy. According to the circumstances related to the IKONOS satellite, this paper puts forward the geopositioning algorithm of IKONOS stereo images' RPC models, offers the object space scheme and image space scheme to compensate the systematic error, these two schemes can promote the geopositioning precision of the Reference-level stereo imageries remarkably. With the help of RFM, this paper hides the key parameters of some sensors to end users successfully; it has provided us an optional technical method to commercialize our high-resolution remote sensed imagery.
