Usb-based Virtual Digital Storage Oscilloscope

As a main participator in the design and research of virtual digital storage oscilloscope (VDSO) based on USB interface, the author regarded USB interface and digital storage oscilloscope as the main research object and researched the problem of data acquisition system's data transfering based on USB interface by the background of that research in this paper. First, several traditional methods of data acquisition card's data transfering and conventional oscilloscope are discussed in the paper. Then the advantage of data transfering based on USB interface and measure system based on virtual instrument is be introduced. By combineing data acquisition card with detailed introduction of USB's transfer protocol and USB device's structure, the principle of VDSO is detailed illustrated. In the end, the programming and invoking of USB device's driver program is discussed through introduction of Windows Driver Mode. Further more, the function of VDSO's panel is simple introduced.
