On the background of a kind of high performance handhold broadband DSO, universal theory and technology is presented and varieties of advanced theories and key technologies that applied to the design of handhold broadband DSO are expounded in this thesis. Also, a certain model handhold DSO is accomplished with TMS320VC5510 of TI Corporation as the central processor. The DSO achieved the bandwidth of 200MHz and its equivalent sampling rate can reach 5GSPS. Asynchronous communication interface is designed to interconnect the DSO with PCs and virtual instrument applications are programmed to guarantee the virtual DSO gain powerful capability of data processing.Being the key part of broadband DSO, high-speed data sampling theories are studied and equivalent data sampling theories are analysis and compared. The multirate transform theory is studied here because it is utilized to reconstruct the waveform of different frequencies signals without distortion. As key technologies of DSO, the implement of broadband analog conditioner, the persistence display technologies based software and the realizations of virtual instrument technologies are described too.At the same time, many innovative technologies are utilized to the practical design of hardware and software. For example, the 200MSPS real-time sampling rate is achieved by utilizing two A/Ds with orthogonal sample, which have lOOMSPS-sampling rate. Managing the input and output effectively makes the system response to the keyboard in time and display the waveforms correctly. The trigger judgment, envelope detecting, rolling display, and the automatic measurement of all kinds of parameters are accomplished by software.
