The space station system inosculates the technology of satellite and manned flight vehicle. It can realize manned flight in the low orbit with more reliability, maintainability, expandability and usability. Since the project of manned space flight has going on in our country, the research to space station system also has been starting. Because of drastical cost in development, manufacture, launch and on orbit management of the space station system, this is necessary to set up a simulation platform or a virtual prototype instead of its physical system. With the developing of simulation technology and virtual prototyping technology a fully new method has been developed to research and run of complex system, which is building the virtual prototype of physical system and testing, analyzing in the virtual environment. It can efficiently reduce the time and cost of development and can provide support method, such as, optimizing design, real time simulation, failure diagnosis, on orbit management etc.This thesis base on VPM platform to build a coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station, mainly discussed:(1) The construction and expanding of VPM virtual prototype, a user model about space station has been programmed for VPM.(2) The design of the coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station, establish a mathematical model of the coarse-grained space station. Through the analyze of dividing the sub-systems, interaction with environment, interaction with man and machine, a coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station has been assembled by the user model and the common model of VPM, it include environment system, dynamic system, time system, GNC system and power system.(3) The space environment model design. This model has been used to describe the space environment of space station and astro motion, include atmosphere model, sun and moon models. It can be used to other virtual prototype system.(4) Sub-systems design. It include dynamic system which used to describe the motion of orbit and attitude of the space station, GNC system that describe the control of orbit and attitude of the space station system; power system, that provide the power supply for the space station. Preliminary imply the on orbit running of the coarse-grained virtualprototype of space station. (5) Simulation of the coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station, aideally result has been obtained.A coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station has been built in the work of this thesis. Preliminary the on orbit running of the coarse-grained virtual prototype of space station has been implied.
