This thesis is a part work of torpedo general design and evaluation method, one of the important pre-researching projects funded, in which the theory and application of Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) of torpedo general design is researched. The main contents and contribution of this thesis are as follows:The current development of MDO inside and outside of our nation is summarized, and integrated with the fact of torpedo general design in our country, the necessity and exigency of this thesis' work is presented.For the first time a complete, advanced and credible tactics and technology index system of torpedo weapon system is established and deeply analysed.A index system 'of torpedo quality evaluation is established, and two up-to-date methods are given. One is Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) based on weighted least-square method of complementary judgement matrix, the other is entropy weight fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods.The Collaborative Optimization (CO) and the Subspace Approximating Optimization (SAO) that is used in this thesis is deeply analysed. The optimization performance and similarities and differences of them are compared using example.For the first time the torpedo general design is divided to nine disciplinarities, the main contents and methods of each disciplinarity is analysed in the while. The flow chart, optimization frame and mathematics model of MDO of torpedo general design is given.Two methods of MDO of torpedo general design, based on CO and based on SAO, and mathematics model of each method is presented and compared. The software of torpedo general design using MDO is programmed, the practicability of which is validated using fact example.
