The recent progress in preparations and applications of nanomaterials, especially one-dimensional structures was reviewed. The electrochemistry methods were extensively used in nanotechnology. A brief summary of infrared detector materials, especially carbon nanotubes and bisphthalocyanine, was introduced. Two kinds of phthalocyanines, oxotitanium phthalocyanine TiOPc and sandwich structure europium bisphthalocyanine EuPca were synthesized and these two materials together with copper phthalocyanine CuPc were purified. The products were characterized by element analysis, FTIR, and UV-Vis spectram.Through the analysis of cyclic voltammogram and protonation procedure of phthalocyanines, the reason why phthalocyanines could be electrodeposited was made clear: phthalocyanine molecules protonated by trifluoroacetic acid could be deposited on the electrode under electric filed. TiOPc, EuPc2 and CuPc films were thus prepared by electrochemical deposition method and different films were obtained by changing the concentration of solutions or electrochemical deposition time.Scanning electron microscope images show the evolution of the morphologies of the films and nanowires of EuPc2 under different concentration of electrophoretic solution and different deposition time. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-Vis absorption spectram show that EuPc2 tends to form H-aggregate and the crystal structure change of films and nanowires are observed under different deposition conditions. The stacking mode of EuPca and the growth mechanism, which could be explained by Anisotropic Ostwald repening, are proposed. The growth of organic nanowires of EuPc2 could be controlled by electrophoretic deposition, which provided a new method to grow organic nanowires. The effects of heat treament and magnetic field on the morphology of films were not obvious. The I-V and Infrared properties of EuPc2 films were measured. From AFM images, evolution of the morphology of TiOPc films depending on deposition time was observed. XRD and UV-vis absorption of the films were studied, suggesting changes of the crystal structure from amorphous to crystalline. Thesecoincide with the evolution of the morphology of TiOPc films. Thus electrophoretic deposition provided a new method to fabricate TiOPc films, which are photoactive in Near-IR area.In addition, the carbon nanotubes films were also fabricated by electrochemical method successfully. Europium bisphthalocyanine deposition on the silicon wafer, was realized as well.
