The purpose of this paper is to study the soil-structure dynamic interaction (SSI) effect on the frame structure with viscoelastic dampers. This study was divided into three steps. First of all, the earthquake records were provided to the 3D model of the soil-structure interaction, one of which is common and the other is equipped with viscoelastic dampers. Draw a conclusion from the result. And then study the structure without the soil with the same the methods. At last, compare the two results. The building used in this study is a ten-story reinforced concrete frame structure supported by box foundation. It was instrumented during the Petrolia earthquake and Tianjin earthquake .The SSI models and the structure without the soil were developed using Marc 2001.The result of these analyses indicated that the response of the building system was influenced by the viscoelastic dampers greatly. And the effect of the soil-structure dynamic interaction should be attached importance to.
