Applications And Analysis Of Viscoelastic Damper In Earthquake Resistant For Reinforced Concrete Frame Structure

The viscoelastic damper is a kind of effective passivity seismic control device. It reduces the seismic response of structure by adding the damping and dissipating the seismic energy of the structure etc. The viscoelastic dampers have traits of economical and effective, and can be installed easily. So it has a broad application foreground in projects, and it has become one of the hot problems within the structure of the seismic fortification control techniques.Based on existing dampers, the mechanical property and calculating model are analyzed in emphsis, the analysis and design method of viscoelastic damped structure is stated, and applied technology of viscoelastic damper in frame structure seismic control is discussed. Simultaneously a finite element method ETABS program is used to analyze the reinforced concrete structure with 4-layer. A representative seismic wave is adopted to analyze the frame building with viscoelastic damper (the controlled structure) and no damper (the uncontrolled structure) respectively. Through the time-history analysis, the results is obtained about the comparison of seismic response of the structure(acceleration, displacement and velocity), the energy dissipation mechanism and laws of the controlled structure is discussed mainly with the viscoelastic damper, the efficiency and applicability of the viscoelastic damper is testified, and some proposals are presented for damper application in actual project.The research results indicate that the horizontal displacement and drift angle of the structure will be decreased obviously about 40% with dissipative system support of viscoelastic damper. It shows that the seismic control method has obvious effect, and the theoretical analysis and calculation model established has better applicability, which can be referred for further research and engineering application.
