Suspension system, as an important part of railway vehicle bogie, one of its function is abating vibration and impact caused by unevenness of rail, so the isolation performance of suspension system affect running quality of railway vehicle directly. Therefore, improving the suspension system's performance is essential to raise train speed that carrying on in our country now.A single train carriage is regarded as research object in this paper. Through analysis of dynamics of the system, an 11-degree of freedom mathematical model is established. Further, a numerical simulation program is complied in MATLAB based on the system model to research the bounce , pitch and roll motion of the car body.Preview control, an advanced control method, can use future target value and future disturbance as well as present and past information in deciding the control. In this paper preview control is applied to the suspension system control, then by using optimal feed forward preview control techniques, the whole preview control system, in which the suspensions of four wheels are all controlled with preview information, and partial preview control system, in which the suspensions of rear wheels are controlled with preview information from front wheels, are formulated respectively. Then in this paper the scheme of active suspension preview control of car and the scheme of active suspension preview of railway vehicle are compared. The simulation result shows that the performance of both kinds of preview control can be vastly improved in comparison to the common optimal control and passive system. And though the effect of partial preview control is slightly lessthan whole preview control, it has more chances to develop because it can be employed easily.A hydraulic active suspension control system employing High speed ON/OFF solenoid valve was proposed for experiment research. The experiment results proved that preview control arithmetic is a valid method for suspension control. In addition, this system can also be used as teaching experiment for college student major in electromechanical.
