The accident rate of freeway is rather high in China. The geometric characteristics of the freeway have an effect on the accident rate, the design parameter in particular. According to the investigation of freeway accidents data, we have found that guardrail height of the median and the type and location of the curb affect high-speed drive negatively. By analyzing the characteristics and reason of median accidents, in light of the moving situation when cars knock guardrail, this text sets up a guardrail model and a model of cars knocking guardrail, and determines the guardrail height that redounds to prevent slopping over of large-sized automobiles and knocking oi small-sized automobiles; according to the load analysis when the wheel touch the curb, the driving pressure that the outside curb make to drivers and simulation manipulation, this text concludes that curb located outside of guardrail goes against freeway driving, and determines location of the curb combined with the American full size test, moreover, it brings forward a median type that is reasonable and safe, which is significant to improve driving safety and decrease freeway accidents in our country.
