In this thesis, the advancing-front method and the finite volume method with TVD schemes are studied. And they are both applied to the simulation of the flow induced by complex projectiles. The following results are obtained:(1) The advancing-front method without background grid is applied to the domain with complex boundaries. At the same time, a new data structure, which combines structured array and adjacency list, is applied to this method so as to reduce the time taken by such operation as searching, deleting and inserting. This unstructured grid generation is applied to the simulation of the high-speed projectile flow, and satisfactory result is obtained, which proves that the method is successful.(2) The Finite volume method (FVM) and TVD schemes with high precision are used to solve Euler equations on the 2d unstructured grids generated by the advancing front techniques. By solving Riemann problem and Emery problem, the FVM with TVD schemes is proved successful.(3) On the 3D unstructured tetrahedron grids generated by Gambit 2.0, the high-precision FVM with TVD schemes is applied to simulate the APFSDS sabots separating and discarding flow field, and results that accord with the laboratorial photos are obtained.
