In this paper the experimentAl conditions of both ParAllel plate and 3-point bending measuring systems of DMA were ascertained by a great number of experiments. It was attained that 3-porint banding could measure and characterize more appropriately NEPE propellants than ParAllel plate after anAlysis and comparison of their experimentAl results. With DMA, DSC and TG both NEPE propellants and polyether polyurethanes includind dfferent ingredients were studied detailedly on dynamic mechnicAl performance and thermAl decomposition properties . Dynamic mechanicAl anAlysicAl results indicated that ingredients made an obvious effect on the construction and properties of NEPE propellants. DOP didn't influence the "microphase-separation" structure in the network of the polyurethanes, but the addition of NG/BTTN could resulu in the disappearance of this structure and the decrease of the storage modulus. Under the effect of dynamic stress, it is different hat various solid particules afiect the properties of the polyurethane. Besides NEPE Double-base Modified doub-basa and Composite propellants were Also anAlysized and compared.The study of thermAl decomposition indicated that the thermal decomposition of NEPE propellant was a complicated action, there existed strong interactions between many ingredients. The decomposition of NG/BTTN, as well as the decomposition of a little polyurethane. Second one was the decomposition of AP, HMX and surplus polyurethane. A great quantity of heat, which was released by the decomposition of both AP and HMX, lowered evidently the decomposition temperature of polyurethane. The decomposition of AP will release O2, which can initiate the decomposition of the polyurethane. And oxygen reagent can restrain the above action. and the decomposition of plasticizer's volatility and polyurethane's decomposition. Polyurethane.
