Research And Design Of The New Arc Device

Arc grounding is a hidden trouble that threatens electric power and distribution network. The grounding scheme by arc suppression coil or small resistance plays a certain part in protection, but certain shortcomings still exist. A new protective method ( arc suppression and over voltage combination) is presented. Its principle and characteristic are introduced in order to find a better protective method suitable to China electric power and distribution network function scheme.Based on the comparison of advantages and disadvantages of several representative arc extinguishing apparatus, a new type arc extinguishing equipment is introduced in this paper. The results of theoretical analysis and field testing show that the new type arc extinguishing equipment can overcome the shortcomings of traditional ones. It has important practical value and application prospect.
