Bi-directional Evolutionary Structural Optimization (BESO) is the new development of Evolutionary Structural Optimization method (ESO). The BESO method based on artificial material is improved and the error of artificial material elements' stress sensitivity number is limited within 5% in the thesis. The application in three-dimensional structures shows the efficiency and reliability. Based on combining bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization, relative difference quotients and stress sensitivity numbers, a new method is proposed to solve beam-plate-composed structural topology optimization problems. The method can be used in beam-plate-composed structures with a variety of cross-sections, beam cross-sectional dimensions being size design variables. The results are illustrated and the effectiveness and efficiency of the method in optimal structural topology design are shown. |
