The millimeter-wave PIN switch is one of the crucial componentsin millimeter-wave advanced system and measurement equipment.The W-band microstrip PIN SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) andSPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switches are discussed on theoryand experiment in this paper. The two crucial parameters –theinsertion loss and isolation are optimized, then a series of researchwork have been completed. At first, the theory and the equivalentcircuit of PIN diode are analyzed on theory, then the radial stub, themicrostrip shut for compensating the parasitic parameters, thedistance between the PIN diodes optimized for minimum insertionloss. At last the W-band microstrip PIN SPST and SPDT switches areresearch on experiment. The final measured results are given in theend. |
