| Laser processing is one of high technologies and it has been rapidly used in many industries of aviation, automobile, metallurgy, petroleum, traffic and so on. Laser remanufacturing has been regarded as important fields in research and application. Powder feeder is the key to laser remanufacturing. For this reason, a new dual powder feeder with carrying gas in long distance has been developed for perfecting laser-remanufacturing occasions.Based on the basic theory of laser processing, this paper firstly discusses the features of laser remanufacturing and its many problems in applying courses. And at the same time, we also study the system and features of the alloy powder, which are applied in laser remanufacturing fields at present. Secondly, based on the theory of gas-solid two-phase flow, the transport of alloy powder with carrying gas is analyzed. A new powder feeder with carrying gas was also designed according to the theory of mechanical design and pneumatic conveying.Powder is transported and measured by special wheel. In order to improve the steady of powder feed wheel, step-by-step motor is used in. Powder transporting unit is placed in a closed system filling with press air, and powder can be transported under negative pressure. Powder hopper and main body can be separated in which balance gas is filled in them. Carrying gases are fed into three ways of powder hopper, feed wheel cavity and falling powder cavity respectively.Many tests of pneumatic powder transport were done for evaluating this device with Ni45 and WC. It is shown that it can solve the transport problem of alloy powder in long distance.Finally, Large area laser remanufacturing was carried out in metallic sheath and stainless steel plates using the powder feeder and 3D coaxial feeding head. The research can lay the foundation for further development of laser remanufacturing. |
