Laser three-dimensional shaping is a new research hotspot, and powder feed unit is the key to this technology. This subject aim at the difficulty and key problem of super fine powder feed unit,after researching and analysising the principle,using field ,merit and disadvantage of several classical power feeder,combined with the requirement, bring forward that the wheel powder feed unit can fit for the using condition.Given the principle structure of machanism and electric control for wheel transport powder feed unit. Designed the wheel antrum,wheel and other key parts firstly. Made primary experiment to prove that the blue print is feasible.Through research and study,the subject analysis the main difficulty that transport superfine powder,and find out the main reason of all these difficulty:the fluidness of superfine powder is not well. So how to scatter the superfine powder becomes the main problem.Based on this problem, designed the scatter component.According to the new blue print, a new superfine powder feed unit with carrying gas has been developed, it include detailed mechanism and electric control, prominently solved the minutely transport and airproof of the carrying gas.On gropping for powder transport theory, we brought in pneumatic transport theory, analysised the application of pneumatic transport theory in this subject, demonstrated the problem of blend transport of diffirent powder and long distance transport.After making several technic test with different superfine powder, studied several characteristic of the powder feed unit particularly.Through the test, a lot of significative test date is achieved.The data shows that the precision of relative transport is below 2.7% and the relative error of the powder quantity with the wheel rotate speed is below 3.3%. The powder-gas mixture stream is even,steady and credibility and the short length is satisfaction. So the scientific performances of the equipment is well.At last, laser cladding experiment is made in different technic condition, good melt-solidifying layer was obtained, and these laser cladding layer tissue were studied.
