Power transformers are major power system equipment. Their reliability affects the electric energy availability of the supplied area.The paper focus on fault diagnosis and location of power transformer, and it is structured as following,Chapter 1 outlines the background and purpose of the thesis.Chapter 2 outlines the methods of the power transformer fault diagnosis,include conventional method of dissolved gas analysis (DGA).Chapter 3 analyze power transformer fault diagnosis based on DGA with an artificial neural network (ANN). The paper applies the RPROP algorithm to build an ANN analysis model of fault diagnosis. Compared with standard BP,the RPROP algorithm has better learning efficiency and accuracy. the fault diagnosis precision is better than that of the other traditional methods according to the test data collected from DGA. Using ANN technique, incipient faults of the transformers could be diagnosed efficiently.Chapter 4 emphasize the important of the power transformer fault location, Fault location can provide critical information for power transformer maintenance, failure investigation, and restoration. This paper set up a model of fault location diagnosis. The paper also put forward some examples to explain how to locate a fault.
