Electric power is the most important energy in modern society. The stability and the quality of the electric power are playing a more and more important role in the development process of the national economy. In order to contribute to the development of the real-time power quality detection and improve the electric power quantity, the main goal of this lessen is to manufacture a new generational power quality detection instrument based on MSP430F449 which will be easily carried, cheap and highly functional.In order to realize this purpose, this paper focuses mainly on the power quality detection. It consists of the following procedures:Firstly, consulting a lot of material and data on power quality detection instruments, summarizing and researching successful experience to manufacture power quality detection instrument, we put forward a total design project of power quality detection instrument based on MSP430F449; Analyzing the numeric measuring principle of the index to affect power quantity, we chose the AC sampling technique and data processing technique suitable for this instrument.Secondly, comparing to all kind of the MCU the system hardware project, we chose a cheap and highly functional MCU design project suitable for this instrument and completed the design, manufacture and test of the hardware system. Comparing to some kind of embedded-in system software construction in common use, we chose a module design project suitable for this instrument and completed partly the work of software's design and edition.Finally, the functions that have completed were proceeded the experiment tests, analyzing the source of detecting error margin. Some measures to improve instrument's anti- interference function were put forward.
