Pipelines provide the most efficient means of carrying oil and gas. But the failures are often occurred by internal corrosion in pipeline. Most of them are in small-diameter and middle-diameter, which are located in densely populated areas. Once the leaks happened, the damages are more serious.Carry out the study of small pipeline inspection technology, adopt ultrasonic inspection method of single probe reflector, and analyze plane reflector influence on focusing ultrasonic beam. For plane reflector inspecting cylinder workpiece, confirming methods of focus position and parameter of workpiece were discussed. According to the inspection way, designing the structure of small pipeline robot, including structure of cabin and one of mileage locating device.On the basis of using need and work circumstance of type (?)159 mm small pipeline, bring forward inspecting project, build up testing system and design two separately subsystem : ultrasonic inspection system in the pipeline and data collection, display system. Carry though relational hardware selection , circuitry and software design. Hardware circuit device includes acquired circuit of mileage signal, drive circuit of electromotor and interface circuit of communication .Experimental results indicated that the project is feasible absolutely. In order to simulate practical work circumstance, some interferential experimentations were done, analyzed interferent influence on inspection precision. According to analyzing experimental datum, which is far-flung significance .So it not only offered authentic gist in order to estimate feasibility and reliability of inspection ways objectively, but also had important meaning for upper research of small pipeline robot.
