With the development of modern construction, the highway construction has obtained the unprecedented achievement. But in the pavement design, the structure design and the material design are seriously separated, which lead to the early damage in asphalt pavement.Pavements are required to have multifunction both in the high-type highway and in the common highway. But the requirements which the different functions to the mixtures are often contradictory, so different functions can not completely depend on the materials. We should make full use of structure function and try our best to unify the structure service performance and the function service performance.This paper uses the layered elastic analysis calculation procedure to analyze the stress condition and the strain condition in asphalt pavement. Each layer of asphalt has different force and mechanics requests, which lead to the difference of mechanics distribution in each layer. Under the guidance of the structure distribution methodology, we can choose the proper mixtures according to the function of each layer. Analyzing the pavement service performance and the mechanics characteristic, we can determine the structure combination and unify the structure design and the material design.
