The road construction in Xinjiang is developing at a high speed, especially high-level asphalt roads. Along with the large-scale buildup of asphalt roads, the early damage to them has occurred to different degrees, which affects greatly the quality of asphalt roads in Xinjiang. The roads that experience early damage are designed and built according to a strictly standard requirement. However, still it cannot achieve a satisfactory performance effect of the road. The reason is that the asphalt roads designed as per the current standard cannot meet the special requirement of combined drought, large temperature difference and heavy load in Xinjiang. Therefore, this article provides an optimizing analysis to the asphalt mixtures designing method based on the performance of asphalt road in Xinjiang district.At first, this paper conducts an investigation to the damage types and distribution status of the asphalt road in Xinjiang district; analyzes the climate, resource exploitation, transportation and load of the roads, so as to find the formation mechanism of damage and main factors influencing the performance of the asphalt roads in Xinjiang district.After that, with the help of field investigation and indoor test, an arrangement and analysis will be made to the materials, mixture design parameters (viodage, bitumen aggregate ratio and gradation composition) and structural condition, so as to find the factors of asphalt mixture designation that can be optimized based on the road performance.Finally, using descriptive statistics analysis method, industrial computed tomography (CT) scans, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and digital image processing technology, this paper optimizes the mixture design parameters based on the road performance, and raises advices for the improvement of asphalt mixture designing method.
