| As the development of national economy, we often face the problem of prospecting mined-out area more and more in the geo-technology engineering such as railway engineering, highway engineering and mining engineering. Mined-out area is a big problem of hidden safety hazard for some civil construction. The work of prospecting mined-out area is a very important and hard task.This research is coming from the project of the 10th Five Year Plan offered by National Technology Department. The aim of the research is increasing the precision of mined-out area prospecting technology, eliminating the risk of mined-out area at the most. The research is charged by the Central South University (CSU) and the Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Company (BYNMC).The author had taken part in the research work and finished this paper combining with the research task. As following shows in detail:<1> The aim and significance of mined-out area prospecting investigation was pointed out, and then the classification, danger and general disposal of mined-out area were introduced.<2> The basic theory of detecting mined-out area was introduced, and some prospecting methods for the mined-out area was illustrated.<3> The basic theory, principle and method for prospecting mined-out area by using Rayleigh wave technology were discussed, the data and images process were given, and the final image and signal interpretation were studied.<4> Some investigations were carried in the Chang Ba Lead Zinc Mine. The underground mined-out areas are studied using the SE2404EX. The Rayleigh wave method for prospecting mined-out area was applied successfully to prospect exhausted area in underground metal mines, and its reasonable parameters were got by making a lot of experiment and tests. The Rayleigh wave technique is useful and its effect is satisfactory as proved by the tests using RAMAC/GPR in Chang Ba Lead Zinc Mine.The results of the research provide a powerful technological support for prospecting the mined-out area and reducing the hidden safety hazards. |
