With the high-speed train coming forth and train speed increasing in railway, high precise fault diagnosis of locomotive bearing is becoming more and more important. Accurately finding bearing faults and repairing or replacing blooey bearing can improve application level of the bearing and aviod the accidents such as train shutting down in half way and train derailment.This paper has introduced origin cause of formation of locomotive bearing fault, basic form, vibration model and fault characteristic frequency briefly at first. Then active fault diagnosis theory and methods at present of research field is studied which include diagnosis based parameters of time-frequency field, diagnosis by Hilbert Resonance-Demodulation technology, diagnosis based energy eigenvector of wavelet package and diagnosis based transfer characteristic of wavelet transfer modulus maxima. Inspired by Morlet wavelet is plural exponent function enveloped by gauss curve, the imaginary part of morlet wavelet is the result of hilbert transform of real part and the wave figure is like as the figure of bell in frequency field, the new method of locomotive bearing fault diagnosis based on combined morlet wavelets is put forward which can finish locomotive bearing fault diagnosis with the hand of parameters of time-frequency field nicely. Finally, this paper has studied applied technology including how to catch and modulate signal of vibration acceleration, multithreading program, serial communication, DLL, GSM and complete the design and debug of soft and hardware system. New JCZ-B locomotive bearing fault diagnosis system can get fault characteristic from the vibration acceleration signal wich big noise and identify fault. In order to manage diagnosis information, the function of data transmission by wireless net is added.The new system overcomes some question which is prevalent in the work of locomotive bearing fault diagnosis. The system fits the requires of high precision fault diagnose of locomotive bearings and will bring economic and social benefit with the application in railway.
