With the development of power markets as well as system interconnection, it is urgent to settle problems as follows. How should we design the AGC (Automatic Generation Control) strategy to match energy market perfectly? What structure of AGC and what technologies should we apply to run the AGC systems to fulfill the requirement of electrical network or to achieve better performances? What standards should we adopt to evaluate the performance of AGC systems correctly and reasonably, and to indicate a trend making for the improvement of system operation?Up to the implementation of electricity power market in China, it is significant to investigate the suitable AGC structures, and in particular, to quest for the probable approaches for optimizing generation allocation as well as improving system performance.This thesis mainly deals with the AGC structures under power market environment. Referring to some AGC structures and correlative experiences abroad, six kinds of AGC structures are brought up here with introduction and static analysis in detail. In addition, dynamic analysis is carried out by employing simulating method to test for their applicability.Generally, the thesis is organized in the following sequences. Chapter 1 introduces the theories and thechnologies related to AGC. Then, in Chapter 2, six patterns of AGC structures as well as correlative elvaluating standards are presented, with detailed static analysis followed. In Chapter 3, methods, models and examples adopted are described, and some parameters calculated. In Chapter 4, dynamic simulating is employed to investigate the dynamic performance of the structures. Further more, the influence of controlling delays, tuning of integral coefficient for ACE and approaches to achieve AGC reserves as well as its available amout on AGC performance are discussed. In Chapter 5, several examples of AGC structures are presented. And finally, the conclusions are reduced as feasible.
